Thank you for registering for the AKC CGC Preparation Class, please read this in its entirety there are really important things here ;)

This class will run consecutively for 6 weeks.

Things to know:

Please either have your veterinarian email me a copy of your current vaccine records or bring a copy for me to keep to the first class.  You will be asked to fill out a liability which includes a photo release when you arrive.

How to prepare:

When you arrive at the training center Please leave your dog in your vehicle while you bring your things in.  The first night of class you will need to sign a liability waiver you will need to have your hands free.

You will then bring in your dog to the designated area you are given.  Dogs must be at least 6′-8′ away from each other.  Be sure to reinforce your dog with food as you bring him/her in and while you are waiting.  This will be a fun positive experience for your dog however, keep in mind that a lot of dogs struggle in new places and around other dogs and humans.

We find that dogs work better when they are motivated and most of our canine friends LOVE food, therefore, please either do not feed your dog before class, bring their meal and 3-4 times the amount of small soft food (deli meat, cheese, chicken) WHATEVER is high value to your dog. We will be using a LOT of food in class!!!

Other Items you will need:

  • Flat Collar or harness
  • 6′ Leash
  • Be sure to bring water for you and a bowl and water for your dog!  Using their brains to learn and have fun makes them thirsty (and tired!)

Looking forward to seeing all in class.

How to prepare:

Arrive in plenty of time to potty your dog before the class!

When you get to the training center, bring in your dogs crate and your supplies FIRST, this is extremely important as I will have a designated space for you.

After you have your space set up and signed a liability waiver, you will then bring in your dog, please be sure you keep your dog 3-4 feet away from the other dogs in class.  Our dogs will be there to learn with their humans, not to socialize with the other participants.

So excited to meet you and your dog, please let us know if you have any questions.
